LEADERSHIP IN MICHIGAN
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of educational systems across Michigan. I have participated as an active leader in state association work, represented our state at the national level, and worked closely with legislators to advance practical solutions for schools that ensure all students thrive and succeed.

As an Executive Board Member of K-12 Alliance of Michigan, I represent the superintendents, educators, and children from Oakland, Wayne, St. Clair, Macomb, and Genesee counties. My work on their executive board helps target legislative priorities and funding advocacy efforts in Lansing.
In my role as Associate Executive Director at MASSP, I was responsible for training thousands of Michigan teachers, principals, and superintendents on teacher and administrator evaluation, instructional framework implementation, and I provided support for legislative initiatives. In my time with MASSP, I developed a strong network with state education leaders.
In my time as an educator, I have cultivated a presence in Lansing through participating on legislative committees, assisting in creating language for education bills, and serving as the Chairperson for the Genesee County Superintendent's Legislative Committee.
I have been recognized statewide to serve on the MASA Executive Board of Directors starting on July 1, 2022, and I have served on numerous subgroups and committees to improve systems for schools in Michigan. In addition, I have been asked to teach and help develop the MASA Horizons Leadership Academy, which helps develop aspiring superintendents across the state and is one of the largest superintendent certification programs in Michigan.
I have served as a panelist and presenter for MASB trainings and workshops. I have also worked closely with MASB trainers in my current district to provide professional development and support to our board of education. In my time working with MASSP, I established relationships with the MASB team and their legal counsel.
I am an active leader within the Genesee County Superintendent's Association serving as the chairperson for the Safety and Security Committee, Legislative Committee, and Purchased Services. As a collaborative leader within my county, I have helped bring best-practices to my district and other area districts.
